"The Middle East: An Odyssey" is Henrik Brahes new book from May 2025. It brings over two decades together of his work as both photographer and field archaeologist.

Through sweeping landscapes, timeworn ruins, and intimate portraits, it charts the region’s story before and after the rise of the Islamic State, through the transformations of the Arab Spring, and in the wake of devastating losses to its cultural heritage. From the mesmer­izing expanse of the desert to the rugged Zagros mountains, each image reflects my dual passion for capturing light and uncovering history and the enduring spirit of the people who call these ancient lands home.
